Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion for helping others become successful writers and editors. My love of reading and writing led me to discover a natural talent for editing, and over the years, I have cultivated that skill into a career I truly enjoy. Working in the renewable energy field allows me to combine my editorial expertise with meaningful work, and in my role managing a team of six, I take pride in coaching and mentoring my colleagues to become skilled at what they do. Supporting their growth while applying precise, technique-driven editing in thousands of publications has been both a professional and personal inspiration throughout my career.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to trust myself and the abilities I bring to my work, and to remember that hard work is always the foundation of success. Keeping faith in my skills while staying committed and diligent has guided me throughout my career.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Get clear on what you are excited about. Then put in the effort to be in that space as much as possible, whether professionally or personally (such as volunteering). Be persistent in following your passion--it eventually pays off.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are creativity, balance, and well-being. I express and cultivate these through my passions for art, Zumba, and rollerblading, which help me stay centered, energized, and inspired. Bringing this sense of mindfulness and creativity into my work allows me to approach projects thoughtfully, support my team effectively, and maintain a fun, fulfilling, and balanced life.
