Silvana’s commitment to community leadership extended beyond her agency work when she served as Executive Director of the Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce, where she supported business growth, increased engagement, and strengthened connections among local business leaders. That experience further shaped her belief in the power of relationships and mentorship, and ultimately led her to co-found HIVE, where she now serves as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the private, membership-based business platform focused on connection, mentorship, and collaboration among entrepreneurs and business leaders.

She is also preparing to launch the Revolve Entrepreneurs Grant, an initiative focused on supporting women entrepreneurs through mentorship, marketing guidance, and funding.

Based in Miami, Silvana immigrated to the United States from Peru at a young age over 30 years ago and was the first in her family to graduate from college in the U.S. A proud Latina and devoted dog mom to Enzo, she is a trusted mentor to entrepreneurs and organizations seeking clarity, connection, and sustainable growth. Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to refusing to settle and being willing to do the work, especially when no one is watching. Growth does not happen by accident, and it rarely happens in the most convenient moments. A lot of the progress we make in life and business happens in the off hours, when you choose discipline over comfort and stay committed to the bigger goal.

I believe success comes from a combination of clarity, consistency, and sacrifice. We all have the same 24 hours, and what we do with them matters. If you truly want to build something meaningful, you have to be willing to invest the time, stay focused, and keep showing up. There are no shortcuts. There is only intention, effort, and the discipline to keep going.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always ask for what you want, because if you don’t, the answer will always be no.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be proactive. Network intentionally and invest in building genuine relationships. Seek out opportunities instead of waiting for them to find you. Show up consistently, listen, take notes, and stay humble. This is your opportunity to observe and learn from your peers, even in the quiet moments. Bring real value, stay engaged, and remember that what you put into your relationships and your career is often exactly what you will get back. Become indispensable. Be trustworthy.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There is a tremendous amount of opportunity in this field right now, but most of it requires initiative. Too often, people sit back and wait for opportunities to come to them, when in reality, you usually have to go out and find them for yourself. The opportunity is there, but you have to be willing to open your eyes to it and put in the time.

If you want to meet more people, you need to network more. If you want to grow, you have to engage more deeply. In many ways, you get out of it what you put into it.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and determination are two of the values I care about most, both in my work and in my personal life. I believe in being truthful, even when the truth is not the easiest thing to hear, because honesty builds trust and leads to better decisions. You will always get an honest recommendation from me, and I approach every business I work with as if it were my own.

Determination matters just as much. I believe in staying committed to where you want to go and not giving up when the path gets difficult. Sometimes growth requires hard truths, discipline, and resilience—and I value relationships where that honesty and commitment go both ways.
