Her Story
About Tahira
I launched my own independent life insurance and annuities brand 2 years ago, working as a broker contracted with multiple carriers. Within my first 4 months in 2024, I received recognition for enrolling the most people as a new agent, which was a significant early achievement. I specialize in life insurance, including whole life and term policies, as well as fixed annuities. I am licensed to serve clients in 5 states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, and South Carolina. Going independent has been both challenging and rewarding, as I manage all the moving pieces myself, from marketing and advertising plans to studying industry trends and maintaining everything that comes with running my own business. I also bring a strong background in health and wellness, having earned an associate's degree as a Holistic Wellness Practitioner from the Institute of Healing Arts in Arizona in 2019, and completed professional certificate courses in immunology and biochemistry from Harvard Medical School's HMX program in 2021. I'm also an executive contributor member on the Brains magazine platform for professionals. I will be completing a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Stockton University in 2027.

Ten minutes with Tahira
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to strong family support, friends and family support. I also have strong mentors who have instilled a lot in me to get me to where I am.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is: Always do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life. I have gotten a lot of inspiration over the years, but this one really stands out to me because it's so true.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Pursue your passion, don't let anybody talk you out of it. Stay focused, stay independent, and don't stop until you reach your destination.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is learning, especially when you go independent. When you go independent, you're doing a big chunk of work yourself. You have to organize the marketing, the advertising plan, studying the industry so you know what the trends are in the market, and just maintaining a lot of moving pieces.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The top value for me is honesty and integrity. Those are my number ones, non-negotiables. I think that's so important to anybody's profession. I don't care what you do. Honesty and integrity are the foundation, and then you can build off of that.
