Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tedolia

01What do you attribute your success to?

My grandmother was my main inspiration and the reason I got into healthcare. She was a nurse for about 20 years until she retired, and I had the opportunity to shadow her throughout my life. Seeing her work ethic and her genuine love for the community that she served really sparked something in me. Watching her work with her patients and the dedication she brought to her role every day showed me what it meant to truly serve others. That's what sparked my interest in going into the medical industry, though I knew I didn't want to do anything clinical. Health administration felt like something I could align myself with, and that's the path I've followed. Her example of commitment, compassion, and service to her community has been the foundation of everything I've built in my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received was just four simple words: 'It all gets better.' At first, I didn't realize the true meaning of that advice. I was skeptical and thought to myself, nothing ever gets better. But over time, I've learned that it really does. With patience and time, all things do get better. That advice has helped me through challenging moments in my career and reminded me to stay patient and trust the process, especially when things feel difficult or uncertain.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I'm facing right now in my role is retention. We struggle with keeping staff, so finding stability in that area is a major effort I'm working on. Another significant challenge is finding qualified candidates for the job vacancies we have. Recruitment and staffing our agency has been an ongoing challenge, and it's something I'm actively trying to address through my HR and recruitment responsibilities. These staffing and retention issues are critical operational challenges in the behavioral health field right now.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are continuous growth, integrity, and family. I believe in always striving to learn, develop, and become a better leader, while remaining authentic and committed to making a positive impact on those around me.

Outside of work, I enjoy writing and storytelling. I'm currently working on my memoir, which has become a meaningful passion project and an opportunity to reflect on my experiences and the lessons I've learned throughout my journey. Writing allows me to express my creativity and share insights that I hope will inspire others.

Above all, I value the time I spend with my husband and children. Family is at the center of everything I do, and maintaining a strong balance between my professional ambitions and personal life is incredibly important to me. The support, love, and experiences we share together are what motivate me every day.
