Criminal Justice Graduate Student
University of Baltimore
Baltimore, MD 21223

Tennille Howard is a Justice System Specialist with a strong background in investigations, case review, and executive-level administrative support within public safety and legal environments. She is currently a part-time graduate student at the University of Baltimore, pursuing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership. Her professional focus includes investigative support, systemic advocacy, and strengthening outcomes through evidence-based analysis, documentation, and collaborative work with legal teams and community partners. She is especially committed to improving justice system processes that support fairness, accountability, and effective service delivery.
Tennille’s educational journey reflects both persistence and resilience. She began her studies at CCBC Dundalk (2004–2007), completing 9 credits before pausing her education to focus on family responsibilities. She returned to college in 2019 and maintained consistent enrollment through fall and spring semesters, earning an Associate of Arts in General Studies from BCCC in 2021. She then transferred to the University of Baltimore, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in History in December 2024 and participated in the May commencement ceremony. During her undergraduate studies, she completed internships with the Baltimore City Public Schools truancy intervention program (TCAP) and the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, gaining hands-on experience in juvenile support services and criminal defense investigations. She has also maintained strong academic performance, earning multiple scholarships, including merit-based recognition, and currently holds a 3.25 GPA in her graduate program.
Throughout her academic and professional path, Tennille has navigated significant personal and family responsibilities while continuing to advance her goals. As a 49-year-old single mother of two sons, ages 18 and 20, she brings lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges facing underserved youth, having grown up in inner-city Baltimore. Her journey has included periods of interruption to care for family needs, including supporting her late father during serious health challenges and managing end-of-life responsibilities. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to service, resilience, and advocacy. Tennille is currently seeking opportunities in juvenile case management, probation, or related roles where she can support at-risk youth by connecting them to resources, guidance, and intervention programs. Her long-term goal is to use her education, professional training, and lived experience to help young people overcome barriers and create pathways toward stability and success, while also inspiring and mentoring others with similar backgrounds.
