About Trista
Trista Mauller is a Client Advocate at Hylant, a Jacksonville, Florida, insurance brokerage, where she guides HR representatives through selecting and implementing employee benefits packages. She has been with the firm for nearly three years. She holds a 214 insurance license and is a notary public, and her earlier work in property management gave her a Community Association Manager license and a real estate license.
A Jacksonville native, Trista graduated from Episcopal School of Jacksonville, formerly Episcopal High School, and began college studies in elementary education. She paused her studies to marry and raise two children, and she devoted fifteen years to being a stay-at-home mom. She then returned to the workforce through real estate and community association management. Her roles included Community Association Manager, Regional Manager for North Florida, teacher, and property manager, before she moved into insurance. She is a member of AINCAR and CAI.
Outside her daily responsibilities, Trista leads a volunteer committee at her office that supports more than twenty local nonprofits. These include Ronald McDonald House, Wounded Warrior Project, Jack's Humane Society, Feeding Northeast Florida, Foster Closet, and ACPS. She credits her friend and supervisor, Mary, as a key mentor, and she draws on her teaching and parenting experience to mentor new colleagues. She is also a strong advocate for workplace volunteering.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my friend Mary, who recruited me and later became my supervisor. She has been a significant mentor and a constant source of inspiration throughout my career.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
This role requires multitasking, client-facing responsibility, and a consistently positive, professional attitude. It is also very rewarding, and I am fortunate to work in an office with a strong sense of community. I encourage any woman considering this field to embrace those challenges.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Service to others is central to who I am. I lead my office's volunteer efforts, which support organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Jack's Humane Society, ACPS, Foster Closet, and Feeding Northeast Florida. I believe companies should encourage and support employee volunteering. Being featured among influential women can expand one's network and validate one's work, but my main motivation is to advocate for workplace volunteerism. I also value mentoring my coworkers and staying involved in the community.
