Her Interview

Ten minutes with Valli

01What do you attribute your success to?

Adaptability, resilience, and learning from failure as well as learning from others. Each challenge has been an opportunity to grow, refine my approach, and lead with impact. Success is a team outcome clarity, trust, and alignment are at the heart of everything I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received came very early on from my mother “Don’t be afraid to try and fail, be afraid not to learn from it and never make the same mistake twice”. This principle has shaped my professional life. In technology, uncertainty and change are constant. I’ve learned that stepping forward, even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed, is essential for growth. Failure is not the end, it’s a catalyst for learning and progress. What matters most is extracting lessons from every experience and using them to move forward stronger and wiser.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Own your expertise and never let others define your potential or limits and don’t be afraid to fail, as long as you learn from it. The technology landscape rewards those who adapt, learn, and deliver. Build your credibility through results, invest in your network, seek out mentors and allies and approach every opportunity with confidence and purpose.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The accelerating pace of AI capabilities presents both disruption of the industry and great opportunity. Staying relevant means embracing lifelong learning and being comfortable with uncertainty. The rise of AI and digital transformation is reshaping every aspect of our work, those who will keep an open mind and adapt fast will lead the way.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, curiosity, and impact. I strive to lead with honesty, stay open to new ideas, and use my skills to make a positive impact, whether that’s mentoring others, building inclusive teams, or supporting my community.
