About Yolanda

Yolanda Rentas serves as a consultant and personal brand strategist in Green Cove Springs, Florida. She founded her company, Piensa en Alcance, in 2019, initially concentrating on digital marketing before shifting focus to professional repositioning and personal brand strategy for Latina women. A biologist with a master's degree in biotechnology from Pontifical Catholic University in Puerto Rico, Rentas previously spent 13 years in the pharmaceutical industry prior to relocating to the United States as a military spouse. She began building her personal brand company around one year ago to assist women in reclaiming their professional identity after major life transitions. Rentas is a member of Créetelo, led by Michelle Poler, and volunteers on the Connect Team at her local church, where she is working to build a Latina community group. She attributes her success to living in community and her faith, emphasizing values such as empathy, purpose, passion, and authenticity in her work.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Yolanda

01What do you attribute your success to?

Living in community has been key in every season of my life, and without God my story would be different.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never negotiate your values.

That's the best professional advice I've ever received. There will always be pressure to take shortcuts, compromise your integrity, or become someone you're not just to get ahead. Don't. Stay true to who you are. Do the right thing, even when it's the harder path. Success built at the expense of your character is never worth it.

I've learned that when you lead with integrity, there is always another way forward. And I truly believe that God honors good character. You may not always take the easiest road, but you'll always be able to walk through the right door with peace and confidence.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be shy or feel like you have to do what everyone else is doing. See within yourself the little things that make you different, dare to show up as you really are, and live your authenticity 100%. That can make a big difference and help other women who feel unseen.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The great challenge is helping people, especially women, build self-confidence because imposter syndrome appears no matter the preparation. Social media makes comparison easier, so changing mindset to believe what they already have within is huge work but necessary.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Empathy, because with it we can understand others' situations and let them know they are not alone. Purpose and passion. Authenticity is non-negotiable in a world full of AI.
