How Grace, Grit, and Guidance Shaped My Journey

Leading With Faith: A Journey of Service, Purpose, and Grace

My leadership journey truly began in 2008 at KDMC, when a mentor named Janet first started training me. She saw potential in me that I couldn't see in myself. She stepped in to guide me and taught me to recognize my own worth. Through her example, she showed me what integrity, service, and genuine care look like in a leader.

Although I wasn't walking closely with God at that time, the core values she taught me were the very foundation upon which Christ-centered leadership is built. Those lessons laid the groundwork that God would later use to transform my entire life.

That awakening came full circle in 2015 when I finally decided to dust off my Bible and open it for myself. That simple act lit a fire in my heart that has only grown stronger with each passing year.

Wanting to know God more deeply, I enrolled in Christian Leaders Institute to study His Word and root my life in truth. When the Institute expanded into a degree-granting college in 2017, I stepped through that open door to earn my bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, and Business, with a focus on Christian Leadership.

Looking back, I can see His hand through it all. Those early lessons from 2008 equipped me to lead, serve, and love others with the wisdom of Scripture.

When severe health struggles threatened my strength and two separate layoffs shook my career within an eleven-month period, my faith in God was the only thing that kept me grounded. In those dark, quiet moments, when fear could have easily taken over, I learned that true leadership isn't forged when things are easy, but when you choose to trust God through the valley.

I began to see those painful job losses not as failures, but as God reshaping my character and deepening my heart for others who are going through their own battles. Through every health issue and setback, the grace of Jesus was enough, giving me a deeper sense of purpose and greater compassion for people who are struggling.

In an industry where people are so easily reduced to numbers and quotas, my daily mission is to walk into every room with God's love and dignity.

Leading with genuine compassion means seeing every employee, colleague, and struggling individual through the eyes of Christ and recognizing the worth God has given them. I don't view my work as simply a career. Instead I see it as a place to serve where kindness, truth, and grace can heal broken environments and restore hope.

God didn't call me simply to hold authority. He called me to reflect the love of Jesus by lifting others up, carrying their burdens, and helping them become who He made them to be.

Looking back across my story, I am in awe of how God has woven together every lesson, every difficult season, and every mentor, including Janet.

My story isn't about my own strength. It is about a faithful God who uses ordinary people to accomplish His work.

As I look ahead, I simply want to remain open to wherever the Holy Spirit leads and whatever door Jesus opens next. I will keep leading with my whole heart, knowing that my ultimate goal isn't the applause of the world, but to run this race in a way that honors my Savior and reflects His grace to everyone I meet.

I don't know what the next chapter holds, but I know Who holds it.
