Influential Women
From Brooklyn to Social Work Excellence: A Journey of Purpose and Empowerment
To be considered an influential woman is a great honor. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, and being raised by two parents—a dad who is a professor and a mother who is a teacher of Nigerian background—I did not know I would be here today.
When I was young, I wanted to be a doctor, but when I entered undergraduate college at Brooklyn College, I took psychology courses. Later, I pursued sociology and took an interest in social work. Social work involves helping people with social problems, whether they are educational, medical, mental, or behavioral. My social work internships helped me become the social worker I am today.
I am a licensed case manager. I have a Master's degree in Social Work, helping others to function effectively in society. As a result of my work experience in social work, I was recognized as an Industry Leader in the field of social services with a Lifetime Achievement Award from PowerWoe.com.
I have also been recognized by Madison's Who's Who, Continental Who's Who, Marquis Who's Who of America, and Woman of Empowerment as an influence among women. I would like to inspire other women to pursue what makes them happy and to be dedicated to the work they are doing.
