Why Sisterhood is important
A lifelong journey of chosen bonds, unconditional love, and spiritual connection among women.
The True Meaning of Sisterhood
The true meaning of sisterhood is the unbreakable, chosen bond of mutual support, unconditional love, and acceptance shared among women.
Looking back over my life, I can truly say that I have embraced and experienced the meaning of sisterhood because of the incredible bonds I have shared with women throughout decades of friendship.
Today, at 68, we have remained connected spiritually, emotionally, and socially, sharing our journeys and the many chapters of life that have held us together. Through the years, we have celebrated one another's victories, supported each other through challenges, and continued to grow together.
Sometimes, the people who are not related to us by blood are the people who feel most like family.
Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Spiritual sisters are called to encourage, mentor, and guide one another with truth and grace.
I like to think I offer that same support to the women who have shared the community of sisterhood with me through space and through time.
Sisterhood is about showing up, lifting one another, speaking life into each other's dreams, and creating a safe space where women know they are not alone.
For every woman who has walked beside me, encouraged me, prayed with me, laughed with me, and shared life's journey with me, I simply want to say:
- Thank you.
- Thank you for the memories.
- Thank you for the love.
- Thank you for the wisdom.
- Thank you for the years.
Sisterhood is a gift, and I am grateful for mine.
