Manalapan, NJ 07726

Andrea Gorgol-Beaton is an interior decorator based in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and the founder of Beautiful Interiors Home Decor. Since launching her business in 2019, she has built a reputation for transforming residential spaces into beautiful, welcoming environments that reflect her clients’ lifestyles and personalities.

Entirely self-taught, Andrea is known for her natural ability to see the potential in a space and bring it to life through thoughtful design, layered textures, and carefully curated details that create warmth, balance, and visual impact. As a full-service decorator, she guides clients through every stage of the design process — from the initial consultation and concept development to sourcing, shopping, and final installation.

Her work ranges from simple room refreshes to large-scale transformations that include architectural enhancements such as custom molding and coffered ceilings. Andrea believes that everyone deserves to be surrounded by beauty in their home, and she is passionate about creating interiors that feel elevated, personal, and inspiring for the people who live in them.

Before pursuing decorating full time, Andrea spent more than two decades as a teacher, developing strong organizational skills, dedication, and an ability to connect with people — qualities that continue to shape her client relationships today. She retired from teaching in November 2025 to devote her full energy to her design business, a decision inspired by the overwhelmingly positive response to the homes she had transformed, many of which sold quickly and above market value.

Today, Andrea continues to build lasting relationships with clients while helping them create spaces they truly love coming home to.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion and the skills I've developed on my own as a self-taught decorator. I can look at an empty space and know exactly what to do with it, or I can be inspired by a single piece, a color or something I see in a store and sometimes visualize an entire room around that one item.

I also attribute my success to the strong professional relationships I’ve built over the years. I work with a trusted network of contractors, painters, and custom window treatment specialists who help bring my design vision to life. Just as important is the relationship I build with each client. I believe in being honest, transparent, and highly attentive to their needs.

Clear communication and trust are essential in this field. Every project requires listening carefully, understanding personal style preferences, and balancing my expertise with the client’s vision. Flexibility is key — design is not about imposing my taste, but about creating spaces that truly reflect the people who live in them.

I’m guided by a strong work ethic, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people who invite me into their homes. I want my clients to feel confident, supported, and cared for throughout the entire process.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to have strong determination when it comes to pursuing your goals and dreams. I believe that success in any field requires persistence, patience, and the willingness to keep moving forward even when challenges arise. Staying focused on what you truly want to achieve helps you overcome obstacles and continue growing both personally and professionally.

Throughout my career, I have learned that determination is what turns an idea into reality. Whether it was transitioning from teaching to building my own interior decorating business, I relied on dedication and belief in my abilities to take that leap. When you remain committed to your goals and trust the process, opportunities begin to unfold in ways you may not have imagined.

This mindset continues to guide me today. By staying determined, working hard, and remaining open to learning, I am able to keep evolving in my career while helping others create beautiful spaces they love. Determination truly is the foundation for turning dreams into lasting success.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the interior decorating industry is to combine passion with professionalism. While creativity is essential, building real skills in space planning, material selection, project management, and client communication is what truly sets a designer apart.

Social media can be a powerful tool when starting out. Even without a large client base, you can begin building a visual portfolio by styling spaces in your own home or assisting friends and family. High-quality photography and consistent posting help showcase your aesthetic and attract opportunities over time.

It is also important to understand that interior decorating is both a creative and business-driven profession. Developing strong relationships with contractors and vendors, staying organized, and maintaining a commitment to growth are key to long-term success. With dedication, patience, and a genuine love for design, it is absolutely possible to build a rewarding and meaningful career in this field.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in interior decorating today is that the work involves far more than creating beautiful spaces. Designers must also manage projects, coordinate schedules, build strong professional networks, and consistently market their services in a competitive and ever-evolving industry.

At the same time, there are tremendous opportunities. Homeowners are placing greater value on thoughtful design, functional living spaces, and architectural details that elevate everyday living. As a result, skilled decorators who can balance aesthetics with practicality are in high demand.

For me, building trusted relationships with contractors, painters, and other specialists has been essential to ensuring that projects run smoothly from concept to completion. The field continues to grow as more people recognize the impact that well-designed interiors can have on both lifestyle and property value. Interior decorating is ultimately a rewarding profession for those who are passionate about design and committed to delivering meaningful results for their clients

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my professional and personal life are honesty, integrity, strong communication, and a genuine commitment to doing meaningful work. When working with clients, I believe it is important to be transparent and offer guidance that leads to the best possible outcome, even when difficult decisions need to be made.

Interior decorating is a highly personal process, and building trust is essential. I make it a priority to listen carefully, respect my clients’ budgets and preferences, and create a collaborative environment where they feel supported from beginning to end. While I bring my own design perspective to each project, the goal is always to create spaces that reflect the client’s lifestyle and vision.

Kindness, flexibility, and professionalism are values I strive to bring into every interaction. By combining thoughtful design with clear communication and mutual respect, I aim to create not only beautiful interiors but also positive and lasting relationships with the people I work with.
