Her Interview

Ten minutes with Angelie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say just hard work, being motivated, and being empowered by my sisterhood circle. Because I am involved with that as well, an empowerment group in Lansing, so I do that often, too.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I was always told to never give up, continue pursuing everything with all my values. It does keep my head up.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I love to tell them to just go in it with a positive attitude. Never give up. Always stay smiling, and make sure that whatever you're going through during the day is not stressing you out. You can achieve everything you put your mind to.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Our biggest challenge is creating a client or candidate base because we're fairly new, so that has been a challenge, getting our name out there. Also, finding people with the good work ethic. The market's changed, so that's been a struggle.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I'm God-fearing, empathetic, as well as passionate about what I do. I love to empower everybody coming into this and any other trades.
