Her Story
About Angelita
I've been in the field of education for about 20 years, but I've been working with families and kids for well over 30 years. I worked in the clinical counseling field for many, many years, and then I used those skills in a public school system, working with families, babies, and children in the health and wellness field combined with education. That allowed me to step into the role that I'm in now, which is in the same area - behavioral health and wellness in education. My main area of expertise is in the behavioral health world, which some people call mental health, but I call it behavioral health. I work with the team that supports student support, health, wellness, behavioral health and behavior type teams. A typical day varies, but I have a lot of meetings and work with a lot of groups that really try and support students across the local district that I'm involved in. My most notable professional achievement is being able to be positioned to support students and families broadly, using multiple lenses, being connected with teams that support students in a broad way from multiple levels.

Always look for the path forward, which is what I believe. I don't know if anybody has said it like that, but always explore possibilities and actions, and look for the path forward.
