Her Story
About Annelise
I have been in technology since 2017 and in finance since around 2000, though my overall financial experience spans 30 years. I spent 12 years at Moody's within structured finance group, where I ran different teams in commercial real estate. CMBS at the time were a very innovative form of financing that shifted risk from bank balance sheets onto investors interested in different classifications of risk, making lending cheaper for borrowers. I've always been interested in innovative avenues and ideas focused on making things better. When I learned about blockchain technology, I recognized what it could do and how it could make financial systems more efficient, so I got into the innovative startup space of blockchain in 2018 and have been working on creating more efficient financial markets since then. My main area of expertise is traditional finance and digital assets, specifically merging traditional finance and decentralized finance. I wrote a bestselling book called 'From Hoodies to Suits, Innovating Digital Assets for Traditional Finance.' Day-to-day, I work to build businesses by managing teams, collaborating with different partners or clients, traveling globally to speak and educate at conferences, and working with institutions on how this technology can help them and the different opportunities we have to work together. I have a new role being announced shortly to build a technology company. I believe we need more people to step up, take risks, create new seats at the table and 'pay it forward' by mentoring and encouraging the next generation.
