Her Story

About Coach

I became a performance coach for a prior company I was working for, and seeing the change in the lives of those who I coached encouraged me to want to pursue more. So I went and got my second certification as a life coach in 2017. In 2019, I went back and got an additional certification as a Master Life Coach and a trainer. In doing that, I built the life coaching career course, and I've been certifying life coaches now for 10 years. As the Chief Curator for Embrace You Coaching, I curate all of our courses - we currently have 8 courses that we offer, and all of those have been written by me. I have a degree in education and am certified in writing curriculum, so that gives me the ability to be able to build sound curriculums that have a heavy education feel to them. The courses they actually feel as if you're taking a college course. I also train my coaches who have gone through my program to be able to facilitate the courses. My main area of expertise is helping leaders heal from past trauma to become a better leader and to be able to live well and lead whole. My most notable professional achievement is certifying more than 200 coaches and the curriculums that I've built. Dr. Myles Munroe says you should be able to sum up your life in one sentence, and my sentence is: I am created to be to others what no one was for me. The lack of having the knowledge, the information, the language, the support I needed to go through the things that I was enduring, and me not wanting to ever see someone go through that alone - that's what inspires me.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of my professors, when I started an event planning company in 2004, asked me if I made good money doing it. I said yes. And he said to me, 'You make good money doing it, you make more money teaching it.' From then on, the things that I have learned, I've built courses around them to be able to not just do them, but to teach others how to do them. This advice fundamentally shaped my approach to my career and led me to create the educational programs and courses that have become central to my work.
