Her Story

About Dovie

Dovie D. Majors, MBA, COSS, is an accomplished executive leader, safety strategist, and organizational transformation expert with more than 30 years of experience spanning military service, manufacturing, energy, logistics, e-commerce, aviation, and construction.

She began her career in the United States Air Force as an Avionics Guidance and Control Specialist, where she was entrusted with ensuring the safety and airworthiness of military aircraft. That experience instilled a lifelong commitment to accountability, operational excellence, and protecting people—principles that continue to guide her leadership today.

Throughout her career, Dovie has built a reputation for leading complex organizations through growth, transformation, and performance improvement while fostering cultures grounded in safety, integrity, and trust. Her executive leadership experience includes senior roles with some of the world’s most recognized organizations. At Amazon, she served as Director of Workplace Health and Safety for Logistics, leading more than 1,100 safety professionals supporting approximately 78,000 employees across North America.

She later accepted an international executive assignment with Coupang in Taiwan, where she served as Chief Executive Officer of Rocket Fulfillment and Senior Director of Environmental Health, Safety, and Facilities, helping lead Coupang’s rapid expansion and operational growth in one of Asia’s most dynamic markets.

Today, Dovie serves as Vice President of Environmental Health & Safety for Energy at Moss, where she leads safety strategy and execution across utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and critical infrastructure projects. Her leadership philosophy centers on building resilient organizations where operational excellence, workforce engagement, and risk management work together to drive sustainable business success.

In addition to her corporate leadership responsibilities, Dovie is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Majors Global LLC, a leadership and consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations strengthen safety leadership, culture, operational performance, and workforce engagement. Through executive coaching, mentoring, keynote speaking, and strategic advisory services, she translates decades of executive leadership experience into practical solutions that help leaders and organizations perform at their highest level.

Dovie is also an Executive Producer of the feature film The Love Doctor and a contributing author to Women Are Changing the Corporate Landscape, a collaborative work with Jean Otte, founder of Women Unlimited. Whether leading global organizations, advising executives, mentoring emerging leaders, or contributing to creative projects, she remains guided by a singular belief: people are the purpose, not the resource.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Dovie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I’ve never been afraid to raise my hand for the hard problems. My career has been built on curiosity, ownership, and a commitment to continuous learning. I believe the best leaders develop people, build strong systems, and leave organizations better than they found them. Whether serving in the military or leading teams across manufacturing, mining, e-commerce, and construction, I’ve found that success comes from serving others, challenging the status quo, and having the courage to pursue opportunities that stretch you beyond your comfort zone. Every role I’ve taken has been a chance to learn, grow, and create lasting impact through people.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was to treat my career like a business and myself as the CEO. No one is more responsible for my growth, development, or future than I am. That mindset has guided me to seek out difficult assignments, embrace change, continuously learn, and make decisions based on long-term growth rather than short-term comfort. Some of the most rewarding opportunities in my career came from taking calculated risks that stretched me beyond what I thought was possible.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is simple: don’t count yourself out. Raise your hand for the difficult assignments, ask questions, stay curious, and commit to continuous learning. Focus on building competence and delivering results—confidence will follow. Be intentional about building positive relationships along the way. The people you work with, learn from, and support throughout your career can have a lasting impact on your growth and success. Find mentors who will invest in your development, but remember that you are ultimately the CEO of your own career. Some of the opportunities that shaped me most were the ones that felt a little intimidating at first. Don’t wait until you feel completely ready; be willing to grow into the role.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity in EHS today is transforming safety from a compliance-driven function into a business enabler. Technology, AI, and data analytics are giving us unprecedented visibility into risk and performance, allowing us to be more proactive than ever before. The challenge is ensuring we embrace innovation without losing focus on the people behind the data. The organizations that will lead in the future are those that successfully combine strong safety fundamentals, technology, and a culture that genuinely values and develops people.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, continuous learning, service to others, and accountability. I believe trust is built through doing what you say you’ll do, even when no one is watching. I’m also a firm believer in lifelong learning and continually challenging myself to grow through new experiences and opportunities.

I value relationships and believe success is rarely achieved alone. Investing in people, building trust, and helping others succeed has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. Finally, I believe in taking ownership of outcomes. Whether facing a challenge or pursuing an opportunity, I focus on what I can influence and how I can contribute to making things better for the people and organizations I serve.
