Her Story

About Eliza

I've been in my field for 10 years, since 2016. After graduating college with my bachelor's degree, I decided I wanted to go into sales, so I started at W.B. Mason as a sales representative. WB is known for being a boys club, a male-dominated industry with male leadership, male managers, and operations, so being one of the only women in the room was something surprising to me, but it was a great opportunity to learn the industry, how it works, and an opportunity for me to show that there's space for women in sales, especially in the janitorial industry. I was there for about 3 years, then I left and went to Swish White River, which is now owned by Brady Plus. I did the same thing up there, then I got promoted to a Regional Business Development Manager for all of the Northeast within Brady Plus. I bring a wealth of knowledge through janitorial supplies, packaging, and food service, with a proven track record of success within each of those avenues for sales and customer relationships, building strong relationships. Currently, I am not leading a team, but that is my goal. I used to report to our VP, and I've told him for the last year that my end goal is to be in his position one day. He's been coaching me and teaching me what it takes to be in that type of position, especially in a male-dominated industry like the industry I am in.

01What do you attribute your success to?

My two young daughters are definitely one of my biggest motivations. I want them to grow up to believe in and look at me as a strong leader, a woman leader in any type of industry, so they are my number one motivation. I want to be successful because of them. I want to show them that they'll always belong in any room that they enter, not just because they deserve to be there, but because they have the skills and the knowledge and everything - they belong. I put on my career hat at 7:30, and then I put on my mom hat at 5:30, doing double duty and putting on two different hats.
