Her Story

About Hannah

I've worked in nearly everything - retail, customer service, videography, cashier positions, and I've been a dog walker and dog sitter for over 10 years. I went to college and graduated from cosmetology school, though I never got my license. I use those skills to cut my own hair and my family's hair, and it gave me a basis for creative work. I found that I just wanted a more interesting life, and I wanted to do more with myself, and I knew I could do more, which is what led me to do all these creative outlets. I've written a book that was dedicated to my father - he's still alive, he gave me the idea for it. I make podcasts, I make websites with AI, and I'm in the process of making a song. My true passion is this mental health website I made with AI for people who struggle with mental health but can't afford professional treatment or are in a place where they can't get any. I made this website for people like them, people like me, who also struggle once in a while. On a daily basis, I like to just make sure it's updated, and as I go throughout my day, as I face challenges, as I see others face challenges, I update my website to have information and helpful hints and tips and things like that for just these challenges that I see on a daily basis. I have anger, and depression, and forgiveness, and that sort of thing on there. It's a really big website, honestly, and it's not the only one I've created. I'm currently enrolled in an IT Support program. I am auditing courses from Harvard. I am also about to recieve my dog training certification during the current month of August 2026. I've been thinking about starting a non-profit, and I'd like to finish another book and publish that as well. I've been playing around with the idea of making kids' books focused on mental health because I don't see a whole lot of kids' books on mental health. I'd like to write and illustrate them myself. I'm also writing another book just for fun about zombies.

Ten minutes with Hannah

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to having a very supportive background. My parents are supportive, my family, my friends - I have a lot of people in my life who really care about me and care about the things that I do. There's this phrase, this quote - pressure is privilege - and that's kind of what helped me through it. If I pay tribute to anything, it will be my life, honestly. What inspired me is I was just really low in life, kind of in a depression, and I realized that I didn't have to stay there, and that I could do anything I wanted to do. That made me realize, oh, I have these gifts, I have these talents, why don't I use them, you know? And that kind of dragged me out of that place.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You never know what will work out until you try it for yourself.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't worry about other people's opinions because opinions are never facts. Use your gut and go after what you want, you might find something worth fighting for.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field are most likely the motivation to keep going. The biggest opportunities are probably the technology we are being blessed with in this day and age.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, accountability, and I very much value love for others as well as yourself.
