About Jazmine
I originally went to Mississippi State to be an architect, but decided I didn't want to go into architecture, and that's when I found Building Construction Science. I graduated from Mississippi State and started with Robins Morton fresh out of college in 2021. I've been in my field for 5 years and in my current position for about 8 months. My typical day starts at 7:30 or 8 o'clock when I get to the office. At 8 o'clock, we have a stand-up meeting with our field team including all of our subcontractors, where we go over what each sub has going on and what they plan to accomplish for the week. After that, I check on material status and submittals, making sure we have all the information we need for everything that goes into the building. I'm currently building a cancer center in Decatur, Alabama, which is especially meaningful because I lost both of my grandmothers to cancer and I'm from the Huntsville-Madison area. I make sure my guys have what they need, look at material to make sure things are here, and call subs to make sure they're lined up two weeks ahead with their crews and materials. I talk to subs about their payments and contracts, upload documents and drawings, and do change orders for anything that needs to be changed to a subcontractor's contract. I was the first African American female to graduate from Mississippi State in construction, which was my big milestone first. I recently completed the ABC Future Leaders program, which helps with leadership skills and connecting with other companies. I won an ABC Award for Construction and Excellence in 2025 for the Rheumatology Associates of North Alabama MOB project. I didn't grow up in construction and don't have anyone in my family that does construction, so this was something I had to prove myself in and prove to my family that this is something I really have a passion for. I love building, seeing the satisfaction of my owners, and the connection with people. I'm a very people person, and I treat every person with respect - there isn't a sub that's over any other sub, and it takes everyone to finish a project.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Respect is one of my most important values. I'm a very people person, and I treat every person with respect. There isn't a sub that's over any other sub - I treat everybody with respect, and it takes everyone to finish a project. I love connecting with people and creating memories with my family. Family time is really important to me, especially being here at home after being on the road for a while. I love giving my siblings and our kids together for them to have that first cousin relationship. For the most part, I love spending time with my family and just creating memories. I also have a passion for helping people in my community when I can, whether that's volunteering at schools, helping at Goodwill, or taking food to the homeless.
