Her Story

About Jennifer

My journey into this work began with my own healing. I was sexually molested when I was young, and even though I talked about it from my teenage years, I realized in 2020 that I was still angry - not at the perpetrator, but at my aunt who knew he was a pedophile yet took me from my home saying she wanted to give me a better life because my parents were poor. I went on a two-year research journey to understand forgiveness, and discovered that the greatest type of forgiveness people aren't facing is forgiving themselves. I actually faced my perpetrator this year, and instead of anger, I felt pity for him. Now I speak on forgiveness because it's something people don't talk about - it's internal, causing stress physically, mentally, and emotionally. I also work as a peer support specialist, which is similar to social work, visiting clients with mental health issues. I have a podcast I started in April where I interview people about all types of relationships, not just spousal. The vision God gave me during prayer and fasting was 'love on conditions' based on 1 Corinthians 13, which tells us all the conditions we're supposed to love on - be patient, be kind, be gentle, be honorable, don't record wrongs. That's the name of my coaching services, my podcast, and two of my books. Last year I hosted my first Vent But Not Broken Conference, and based on the feedback from attendees, I'm making it an annual event. People have always gravitated toward me as a safe spot, telling me their business since I was very young, and I realized I have something where people can confide in me. It's my genuine love for people and seeing them find their way through with the right tools and solutions.

The best career advice I've ever received is to do something that I love, so that at the end of the day, it won't feel like work.
