Her Story

About Jodi

I'm a co-founder of the High Achievement Center, where I serve as president and lead coach. I've been in the coaching field for about 9 years now, building this business from the ground up with my co-founder. What makes our approach so wonderful is that we've divided our responsibilities based on our different areas of expertise - he's an expert in certain arenas that I'm not, and vice versa. Every client we have fits into either his path or my path, and sometimes we work together and coach them at the same time, depending on what their situation might be. Our ideal clients typically run between the ages of 25 to about 55, because they're in that career segment of their life where they've graduated from college and are moving up the ladder or want to move up but are having certain issues or life is getting in the way. We cover that gap because they're not at college anymore so they don't have that direction, and a lot of the people we work with, their parents were never where they were at, so they don't have them to fall back on either as guidance. We're that middle ground for them. My background as a teacher really transitioned well into this work - I was a teacher and I did coach sports, so I understand what it means to coach people through learning and understanding, and that everyone learns differently. That's the great thing about what we do - we can use different sequences for different people because no one is the same. Everything we do is from our own experience. All of our curriculum we created ourselves - we're not a book-made company. We made this company through our own transformation.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice for women is that you have to pick a lane that you're very comfortable in, that you have experience in. Because without the experience, you can't help somebody else jump their hurdles. I don't believe that you have to be a licensed or certified coach - that gives you a framework to work on, but it doesn't help you be the best coach possible, because you actually have to know what you want to coach. And whatever your passion is in, or what you excel at, that's really what you should be coaching at, or consulting with.
