Her Story
About Kimberly
Kimberly Lewis has spent nearly 19 years helping people navigate change. Based in Houston, Texas, she began her career in chemical engineering before moving into consulting, where she now guides transformation across corporate and nonprofit settings. Her work centers on a question that shapes every major transition: How can people move forward while feeling seen, supported, and equipped to succeed?
Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University in 2005 and a Life Coach certification in 2008. She also holds a DEI certification from Cornell University and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University, which she completed in 2024. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership at Abilene Christian University. In 2024, she received the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Preaching and Leadership Award.
Her commitment to leadership extends into professional and community service. Lewis is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She served as Professional Development Director for the Association of Change Management Professionals from 2023 to 2024 and has served as vice president of the Houston chapter of Black Achievers since 2024.
Ordained and affirmed as a minister in 2018, Lewis founded God’s Diamonds, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports neurodivergent individuals through resources available at www.understandingneurodiversity.org. You may visit the organization at www.godsdiamonds.org.
Lewis started Kingdom Advancement Strategists in 2022. The organization focuses on guiding spiritual leaders and faith based organizations through processes to build effective strategies that help advance the kingdom. The organization has expanded and is now a network of leaders that serve ministries in multiple areas.
She also developed the AI Experience Framework to help people understand and use artificial intelligence responsibly. She credits her parents for instilling the Christian values and resilience that continue to guide her work.

Ten minutes with Kimberly
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mother and father. They each faced challenges of their own, yet they taught me to meet life with faith and resilience. They raised me with Christian values: to put God first, keep going when things get difficult, and strive to become the best version of myself. Their example continues to shape how I lead, serve, and pursue my purpose.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is simple: get back up and keep going. You will make mistakes. Some plans will fall short, and you won’t always meet everyone’s expectations. When that happens, learn what you can, look for another way forward, and try again. A setback does not have to be the end of your story.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this field is to stay resilient and curious. In change management, you help others navigate transformation while going through changes of your own. Your plans may shift, and you’ll need to learn new skills as tools like AI reshape how we work. Give yourself room to grow. Stay open to new ideas, embrace new ways of working, and trust that you can adapt even when the path ahead is uncertain.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in change management right now is helping people adapt as AI reshapes how work gets done. The challenge has several layers. Employees may worry about how their roles will change. Leaders must decide where AI adds value, how to use it responsibly, and how to keep people involved in decisions. Organizations also need to build trust while giving people the skills and support to work in new ways.
I see a real opportunity to close the gap between access to AI and understanding how to use it well. AI should be a partner that supports human judgment, with people remaining involved and accountable. That belief led me to develop the AI Experience Framework, which helps everyday people understand AI and use it with greater confidence and care.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The value I hold most closely is loyalty: showing up for the people and causes I care about, especially when it matters most. Legacy is part of that for me. I want to honor those who came before me, live in a way that honors what they taught me, and recognize the contributions of others.
I try to put those values into practice by being a good friend, a good daughter, and someone who looks for ways to help. To me, success means more when I can share it, acknowledge others, and leave something meaningful for those who come after me.
