Her Story
About Krati
My journey into IT started in childhood when I was fascinated watching my cousins work on laptops and do coding. After high school, when I took computer science and started learning C++ and Java, I knew this was my path. I'm originally from India, and though I tried to get into reputable universities there, I wasn't able to due to marks and general category limitations, so I made the decision to switch to the U.S. I graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with my Master's in Data Analytics in 2025, which I'm incredibly proud of because it wasn't easy being an international student, maintaining visa status while working hard for good grades and dealing with the cultural differences between U.S. and Indian culture. Before my master's, I earned dual degrees in Administrative Management and Tourism Management, plus a diploma in Hotel Management and Industry Management in India. I also completed an internship in Dubai working as a business systems analyst and sales analyst, managing inventory, and that's where I really got interested in doing analysis and making dashboards. That internship was the biggest reason I took admission at Northeastern University. Now I'm working at RealCold, a mid-level startup that's still growing and merging with other companies. I'm handling all their data mapping, dashboards, and KPI reports, working on their core data to make the data cycle much easier for them. What I love most about my work is playing with data, cleaning it, and creating beautiful dashboards that give clear solutions to our leadership and operational teams. When they tell me 'Krati, thank you so much for making this dashboard, we were suffering a lot before you,' that's when I know I've succeeded.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Krati
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think dedication and discipline are the keys to my success. I'm a very disciplined person in my life. If I want to complete something right now, I don't know, whatever it takes, I have to do it right now. Dedication and discipline are the two keys that I really consider for my success. Being a woman in IT is not an easy task, and there are a lot of people who don't support women, so I faced some hurdles with societal pressure and all, but I'm here at a good place now because of my dedication and discipline.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I want to say, believe in yourself, be dedicated, be disciplined, just don't think about others, and just cross this societal pressure. I know this is a big hurdle for women. Society is considering men and women differently, so I just want to say, go wherever you want to go, do whatever you want to do, but be focused. Just don't think about anything, your career is your priority. Focus on that. Everything can wait, but your career can't. It's not an easy thing to be a woman. People don't think like that, but I know what it takes to be a woman.
