About Kristine
Kristine Epps is a Managing Attorney for the New Jersey Division of Jacoby & Meyers LLP New York, where she oversees personal injury cases from intake through litigation and deposition. In her leadership role, she evaluates case viability, guides clients through the legal process, coordinates medical treatment, and ensures that each case is positioned for the strongest possible recovery outcome. She is deeply involved in client communication, helping individuals understand their options and make informed decisions while navigating often complex and high-stakes claims.
Kristine’s legal career includes progressive experience across multiple firms and roles, including associate attorney positions and prior work in litigation support and legal clerkships. She also gained early experience through internships with organizations such as the Tarrant County Bar Foundation and Dechert LLP, where she was exposed to pro bono service and international arbitration work. She earned her Juris Doctor through a legal education path that included Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University, building a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and advocacy.
Her path to law was shaped by personal experiences witnessing family members struggle to access affordable legal support, including challenges faced by her veteran father. These experiences motivated her to pursue a career where she could help bridge gaps in legal access and client empowerment. In her current role, she finds fulfillment in delivering life-changing results for clients—whether helping them recover financially, resolve medical burdens, or regain stability after injury—while maintaining a high level of care and consistent communication throughout each case.

01What do you attribute your success to?
For me, the law isn't just a career, it's a calling born from lived experience. Watching my family struggle to secure legal help without buckets of money, despite my father's service as a vet, I decided to become the door I wished had been open to them. Four years into my legal career, I'm already a managing attorney at Jacoby & Myers' New Jersey division, where I protect the firm's financial health while personally guiding every case from intake through deposition. I manage case status, coordinate medical treatment, and most importantly, I empower clients to make educated decisions about their own futures. The best days are the good calls, when a result changes a client's life, whether that means they can retire, buy a house, or pay off debt. I'm most proud of getting this position and being able to thrive in it, because it's a very big job with a large volume of cases, but I'm able to make sure I'm talking to all the clients regularly, and I really, truly enjoy my job, which in the legal field is not the norm, unfortunately. I really love this position and the people I work with, and finding this position and being able to perform well in it is probably my biggest accomplishment.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would have two major things. The very first one: don't rule out an area of practice before you've tried it, because you may end up loving it. I never thought I would be in personal injury, and frankly, I am so thrilled that I am. I also know a lot of other attorneys have found little niche areas of law that they didn't know existed, or for some reason decided they wouldn't like without actually trying it, and they ended up loving it. So I would say always keep your areas open until you've tried it. The second biggest one that I would say is make other people tell you no before you decide that you're not good enough for something. Make other people tell you no. Make them tell you no, you can't have a raise. Make them tell you no, this isn't the job for you. Make them tell you no about a promotion before you decide not to ask for it.
