Her Story
About Lydia
I work with clients on their wellness journeys, helping them create sustainable habits based on their values and overall vision for where they want to go. My days involve a lot of admin work, but also behind-the-scenes preparation for clients, like prepping grounding exercises and meditations so that when I'm in sessions with them, I can focus on just them and they can take the session where they want. I've seen a pretty diverse amount of subjects - it can be anywhere from talking about finances to different health and blood work metrics that they're working on. Coming from my background, I really try to emphasize this is not self-care rituals, it's not a bunch of gimmicks, it's not olive oil shots that are going to help you. It's restructuring your life based off of what you believe your purpose is, for yourself and what's important to you, and then building off of that way so that we're preventing burnout and chronic illness. With my current group of clients, I have now, mostly burnout recovery, so women who have already experienced burnout and are trying to discover themselves in the chaos in the aftermath of that, so that way burnout doesn't become a cycle.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I think my biggest professional accomplishment in the scope of myself is just realizing that when I align my professional development with what I think God is calling me to do, what my true purpose is, is the most deeply fulfilling accomplishment that I've ever experienced in my life. It's not something really that's on a resume that looks really good, but being able to connect with myself in my business and have the stars align a little bit. With autoimmune disease, it's hard to do anything, and then finding a way where I can go on a bike ride, I can get off the couch, and I can coach people because I've structured my life based off of my values - that's probably my biggest accomplishment.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think the most difficult part for me so far is that there are probably hundreds of thousands of people on social media who can say they're a wellness coach without maybe going through a weekend course, or just like - I know life coaches don't have a certification either. So it's nice just to be like, hey, I do have credentials and backing, and I'm a legitimate coach. I'm not trying to push trends on you - I want to actually realistically help you and find what fits in every woman's life. It's really tough, especially for clients who are moms or business owners and moms, because there's not - it's really tough for them to step out of their shell and their comfort zone in the first place when they're already overwhelmed. So they don't want to just hand over that part of their journey to some random person who's like, yeah, I'm a wellness coach.
