Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lynn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the experiences, relationships, mentors, and lessons I have accumulated throughout my career. After approximately 40 years in the professional world, I have learned to embrace both successes and failures as opportunities to grow. Mentors such as Marie Ronca and Dr. Greg Stebbins, who has mentored me since 2004, have played an important role in shaping my professional development and encouraging me to remain authentic and open to feedback.

My transition from commercial real estate and executive leadership into authorship and leadership mentorship has also been an important part of my growth. I founded Grounded Leadership to help leaders and organizations strengthen their foundations for sustainable success, and I published *The Breaking Point*, the first book in my six-book *Musings of a Recovering Executive* series. Through my writing and mentoring, I hope to help people recognize their circumstances clearly and make more intentional decisions rather than simply providing them with answers.

Ultimately, I measure success not only by professional accomplishments, but by the legacy I create through helping others succeed. Seeing people I have mentored grow and achieve their own goals is one of the accomplishments I value most.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to always be my true, authentic self. Marie Ronca taught me the importance of learning from failures, while Dr. Greg Stebbins has provided mentorship and constructive feedback since 2004. His guidance, including feedback on my LinkedIn work, contributed to my professional growth and ultimately helped lead to recognition such as the Think Big Award.

Those lessons taught me that authenticity, continuous learning, and the willingness to acknowledge and learn from mistakes are essential to long-term growth. I believe that being willing to think differently, accept feedback, and remain true to who I am has been instrumental throughout my career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering leadership and professional fields is to be comfortable being your true, authentic self. Do not feel that you have to fit someone else's definition of what success or professionalism should look like.

Think outside the box, take thoughtful risks, and do not be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes can become some of the most valuable opportunities to learn, grow, and develop. Your career does not have to follow a perfectly predictable path, and embracing your individuality can help you build a career that is genuinely aligned with who you are.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

At this stage of my career, one of my biggest opportunities is establishing myself in a new area and connecting with people across multiple business ventures. I am actively interested in meeting people, building relationships, and expanding my professional network.

I also see significant opportunities through leadership mentorship, authorship, and conversations surrounding workplace culture, burnout, career transitions, and sustainable leadership. Through Grounded Leadership and my *Musings of a Recovering Executive* series, I am focused on helping leaders and professionals navigate these challenges with greater awareness, humanity, and intention.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity, growth, mentorship, independence, and leaving a meaningful legacy are among the values that matter most to me. In my professional life, I am passionate about one-on-one mentorship and writing, and I find the greatest fulfillment in helping others develop and ultimately seeing them succeed.

I also value self-awareness and the willingness to learn from difficult experiences. My personal journey has taught me the importance of independence and continuing to develop new skills, even when circumstances change. I believe that success is not simply about titles or accomplishments; it is about becoming more fully yourself, using your experiences to help others, and creating a legacy that continues through the people you have influenced.
