What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to determination, empathy, and a strong sense of justice. I am deeply committed to ensuring that victims of crime are treated fairly and that justice is served. During law school, I worked diligently to expand my knowledge, taking full advantage of internships and practical experiences to strengthen my legal skills. I also credit my parents for instilling in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and goal-oriented discipline, which continue to guide my personal and professional growth.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that I learn the most from my losses. Setbacks and failures provide the greatest lessons in understanding what works and what does not. Instead of being discouraged, I focus on reflecting, improving, and applying those lessons moving forward. I believe in picking myself up after each challenge, continuing forward with resilience, and approaching the next opportunity with greater insight and determination.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the legal industry is to actively seek as much hands-on experience as possible. Work diligently and consistently, and don’t hesitate to build relationships with mentors who can guide and support your growth. Take every opportunity to shadow experienced professionals and observe real-world practice. Most importantly, get into the courtroom whenever you can and immerse yourself in practical experiences that will strengthen your confidence, skills, and understanding of the profession.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the widespread misunderstanding of how the criminal justice system actually works. Many people form their perceptions based on television shows or media portrayals, which often do not reflect real legal procedures. In reality, the justice system is governed by the rule of law and strict rules of evidence that must be carefully followed. A significant part of the work involves helping clients and the public understand these processes more clearly and setting realistic expectations about how cases progress within the legal system.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are maintaining very high ethical and moral standards and consistently striving to do the right thing. I place great importance on integrity in every decision I make, both professionally and personally. I am also deeply committed to being the best version of myself for my children, my family, and the strong support system I have built around me. In my legal work, I am guided by a strong sense of advocacy—fighting diligently in the courtroom for others and ensuring that their voices are heard and represented fairly.
