Pamela Nielsen is a visionary artist and founder of Pamela Productions, LLC, where she creates large-scale, energy-infused artworks that transform spaces and inspire healing. Since beginning her artistic journey in 2003, Pamela has developed a distinctive style centered on what she calls “color energy”—a powerful force she both senses and channels through her brushstrokes. Her vibrant, flowing pieces are known for their emotional resonance and ability to empower environments, finding homes with private collectors, designers, and architects around the world.

Pamela’s artistic process is deeply personal and rooted in transformation. What began as a way to heal from childhood trauma evolved into a lifelong mission to share the restorative power of color with others. Through years of experimentation, she created her own tools to achieve sweeping, fluid strokes on large metal and acrylic canvases—some spanning over twelve feet. Her collaborative spirit and intuitive connection with clients allow her to translate emotion and energy into visual form, crafting bespoke works that reflect both the individual and the space they inhabit.

A graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Public Relations and Applied Communication, Pamela blends creativity with a strong sense of purpose and storytelling. She believes, as color theorist Frank Mahnke once said, that “color creates a sensory experience that impacts us physiologically.” For Pamela, painting is not only an artistic expression but a spiritual journey—catapulting her from darkness to light. Through her art, she hopes to empower others to experience the same transformation and to infuse their spaces with energy, hope, and beauty.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

God. In 2002, while mixing my vocal cd "i am free", a celebration of God's healing in my life from memories of childhood trauma, I heard a voice whisper in my right ear "go buy plates and paint on them." So I did. I purchased plates and platters at TJ Maxx and set up a studio in my basement. That same voice would guide me as to the colors of paint I should use and the technique. I had no idea that these simple moments would open the door to a fulfilling creative journey. At the time, painting these vibrant colors were catapulting me from darkness to light. My brother encouraged me to create prints from my originals, and from there, my work evolved into larger prints and eventually the large-scale artworks I create today.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

That passion makes magic. I know that "when I flow, I go." It's when I'm in my "creative vortex" and following my intuition, that things start to happen. I feel that my strokes are divinely channeled through me. I put a lot of trust in God, and have witnessed His help along the way. Opening doors to great projects, and evening closing some when necessary.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be patient! And go with the flow. Don't lose who you are as an artist. A lot of voices will tell you what to do. Be true to yourself and your work. You will find "your people". I find that personal connection is still the best way to sell my work--at least it has been for me.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

So many artists online wanting to sell their work. The market is inundated. That being said, I believe that each of us as artists has a place for our work. Finding those places may not always be easy . . . but they do come if you keep working at it. There are a lot of walls in the world that need art. Why not yours?

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My relationship with God keeps me centered. Relying on His wisdom is key. I also believe that kindness and great customer service is so important. Whether my clients purchase a $5 greeting card or $50,000 original, I am there to assist them in any way they might need. And I am so grateful when anyone purchases my work--knowing that a little bit of "Pamela" energy has made someone happy! So fulfilling as an artist. I'm also very grateful for a wonderful supportive husband, children and my grandchildren. They make my life joyful!
