Rebecca Sievert

Commercial Lender
Bank Michigan
Pleasant Lake, MI 49272

Rebecca Sievert recently began serving as a Commercial Lender at Bank Michigan, officially starting in December 2025. Prior to this role, she spent nine years as a Regional Client Manager, supporting multiple professional lenders and helping businesses achieve their financial goals. With over 18 years of experience in banking, Rebecca brings a wealth of expertise across retail branch operations, manufactured home sales, regional client management, and commercial lending. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her ability to build strong relationships, provide operational support for lenders, and help clients navigate complex financial needs.

Rebecca’s professional focus centers on helping businesses run more smoothly rather than simply “selling” products. She prioritizes listening, building rapport, and delivering service that truly meets clients’ real needs—a client-centered approach she attributes to her early experience in retail and restaurant service. She is known for strong prospecting, relationship-building, and operational support for lenders, and her commitment to excellence has been recognized through multiple internal awards at Huntington National Bank, including the “Heart of Huntington” award, as well as her graduation from Huntington’s Emerge Top Talent Program in 2025.

A graduate of Baker College of Jackson with an Associate’s Degree in Small Business Administration and Management, Rebecca values integrity, perseverance, and continuous growth in both her personal and professional life. She attributes much of her success to the support of her family and the guidance of mentors like Scott Stewart, who have encouraged her to reach her full potential. Passionate about empowering clients and colleagues alike, Rebecca continues to leverage her expertise to strengthen Bank Michigan’s commercial lending offerings while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and integrity.

I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family, whose encouragement and guidance have been a constant source of strength throughout my personal and professional journey.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received emphasized the importance of a customer service–oriented approach, especially while navigating a male-dominated industry. I’ve carried this guidance throughout my career, which has included earning awards such as Living Our Values in 2013, the Chairman’s Award in 2015, and a Certificate of Achievement for Top Performers in 2019, completing leadership programs, and actively volunteering and participating in industry associations—all of which have reinforced the value of staying true to my principles while striving for excellence.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Rebecca urges young professionals to believe in themselves, try new things, and not be deterred by the possibility of failure—"if you don't try, you don't know.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Starting out as a lender in the winter months presents a unique set of challenges, as the slower market and seasonal factors can make building momentum more difficult. At the same time, these challenges offer an opportunity to focus on relationship-building, refining strategies, and laying a strong foundation for long-term success.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value integrity, perseverance, and continuous growth in both my work and personal life, and I strive to become a successful commercial lender. I am especially grateful to Scott Stewart for pushing me over the past nine years to reach my full potential—“if you don’t challenge yourself, you don’t grow.
