What do you attribute your success to?
I definitely attribute my success to the people around me supporting me. Getting to come home to my friends and family and have their support through all of this, and then also into the office every day with my coworkers, they're a huge driving engine behind my success. If it weren't for the people around me, I wouldn't be who I am today, so I think it all comes back to my support system. It really does take a village, and that's been true all along.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the foundations my dad taught my brother and me was balance, and it comes into play in so many different aspects - the work-life balance, the balance with your friends, with your family, with your coworkers. It really just comes into play in so many different aspects of life.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be persistent and be yourself - I think those would be the biggest things for me, especially in a career like sales. You can't fake it. You really have to just showcase who you are, and that's where the success is going to come from. Also, just be willing to stand back up after the hard times, so don't let the lows hit you too hard, and just get through it with your team. It takes a little bit to ramp up in this career because it is a very long-term sales cycle, so you're building a lot of relationships with your clients. You definitely have to be patient with yourself and just stay true to who you are.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Hard work and determination are two things that I live by, and then respect is another thing that I think is huge in both personal and work life. I think that comes into play as respect for yourself - hold yourself to high standards and want the best for yourself - and then also respect for others and their time. Those are the two things that I think really encompass my drive. Balance is also a huge foundation for me, something my dad taught us growing up, and it comes into play in so many different aspects - the work-life balance, the balance with your friends, with your family, with your coworkers.
