Her Story

About Rosie

Most of my day is spent coaching BDRs on strategy and KPIs, which involves a lot of cross-functional collaboration with sales and marketing through weekly and daily standing meetings. I listen to call recordings for my BDRs and inspect their work to help them improve. A big part of what I do involves personal development, both for myself through meeting with my mentors and for my team members. Since the BDR role is entry-level, I get a lot of folks who haven't had this role before, so there's a lot of coaching involved in getting everyone up to speed on what their metrics need to be in order to be successful. Accountability is a big part of that. The nature of sales means sometimes things are great and sometimes they're not, so I focus on making sure everyone maintains a level head whether times are good or bad and keeps a positive attitude. Right now, my opportunity is to get my team to be successful in this brand new motion and brand new playbook that the company just assigned to us, which is exciting because what we're doing hasn't been done before yet, at least at Tricentis.

Ten minutes with Rosie

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Work smarter, not harder is a big one. Another one is to be coachable and to have a positive attitude. These are really simple pieces of advice, but I've truly carried them with me since I started my career in 2016. And to be organized, too. It's a very underrated skill, but that was a really great piece of advice that I took to heart all the way back in 2016.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I would say probably accountability across the team, just because due to the nature of the BDR role being entry-level, I get a lot of folks that haven't had this role before, so it's a lot of coaching. Just getting everyone up to speed on what their metrics need to be in order to be successful, and accountability is a big part of that. Also just the nature of sales - sometimes things are great, sometimes they're not, and just making sure everyone maintains a level head whether times are good or bad and keeping a positive attitude in that sense. As for opportunities, there's a lot of opportunity to grow, especially at Tricentis. The next opportunity for me would be in senior management, and then from there, I'd be in a director-level position. Right now my opportunity is to get my team to be successful in this brand new motion and brand new playbook that the company just assigned to us. There's plenty of opportunity there, since what we're doing hasn't been done before yet, at least at Tricentis.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Professionally, integrity in the work that I do and the work that my team produces is very important to me. And definitely work ethic. There's not going to be another team out there that works harder than my team does.
