Samantha Berrios is a dedicated forensic scientist with the New Jersey State Police, specializing in scientific research, investigative analysis, and forensic biology. With extensive experience spanning analytical chemistry, population genetics, biological sciences, and criminal law, she brings a rigorous and methodical approach to every investigation. Known as a hands-on collaborator, Samantha works seamlessly across organizational levels to advance research initiatives, interpret complex data, and apply advanced laboratory techniques with precision. Her career is marked by her deep understanding of lab instrumentation, DNA analysis software, and in-depth forensic methodologies, which she has honed over years of work in both public and private sectors.
Passionate about making a difference, Samantha chose forensic science to not only contribute to society but also to serve as a trailblazer for women and Latinas in a traditionally male-dominated field. Throughout her career, she has faced and overcome biases regarding gender and emotional resilience, continually proving that capability knows no gender. Her work spans high-profile criminal investigations, DNA interpretation, and quality control analysis, and she has contributed to internal validation studies, testimony before courts, and the development of forensic standards that support law enforcement and public safety.
Outside of her professional life, Samantha enjoys cooking and catering for weddings, finding joy in serving others and creating memorable experiences. An alumna of Bay Path University, an all-women college, she values empowerment, mentorship, and fostering inclusive environments where women can thrive.
