Ten minutes with Shanjida

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a strong educational foundation, the values instilled by my maternal grandfather (Dr. Khairul Basher) who was a Physician in Air Force. He passed away but he implanted within me the most essential and valuable teachings to live a great life. He was more like my father- figure and he is always with me, seeing me from up there somewhere. My unwavering commitment to higher education, hard work, discipline, honesty, and always faith in God. I have always been passionate about helping others and I definitely feel success in life because of those people, who I could stand by and be supportive to them and specially those unfortunate orphans/families in the 3rd world countries.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Continue investing in your education, remain disciplined, stay focused, work hard, take best care of health.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to pursue a strong education, always read different genre books/Articles or anything consistently, explore for new ideas, always seek for knowledge, learn something new everyday, and never stop learning. Take each bad career experience as a lesson and convert that to something positive in the future. Be hardworking, focused, determined, disciplined, committed, consistency, and honest in everything you do, take best care of your health and last but not least faith in Most High. The world may present challenges and temptations, but if you remain consistent, maintain your integrity, and keep faith at the center of your life, you will ultimately succeed and stand out as an outstanding leader.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is the growing level of competition across healthcare and other industries, which requires organizations and professionals to develop unique ideas and better understand consumer needs. At the same time, the greatest opportunity is that healthcare is an essential and continually growing industry. Services such as DME, home care, nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living, and healthcare consulting will remain in demand, creating significant opportunities for innovation, operational improvement, and long-term impact.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are Integrity, honesty, dedication, discipline, compassion, consistency, stay fit, stay humble and grounded, stay connected with the nature, service to others, my family including my 2 exotic cats, and constant faith in Lord. I also place a high value on education, lifelong learning, reading, exploring through traveling places and continuously improving myself so that I can better serve my family, my profession, and my community.
