Challenges may shape our journey, but they never define our destination. I chose to turn every setback into strength, every obstacle into purpose, and every lesson into an opportunity to inspire others.

Every level of success has shown me: the strength or lack of systems and models. Wanting success is admirable, preparing systems that support your ability to scale is strategy.

When starting a new business, there are a lot of moving parts. I had success. I made mistakes. The phrase that got me through it was, "I never lose. I either win or I learn." -Nelson Mandela. I learned to pivot when necessary. I learned what worked and made that my SOP. Now I have a thriving business blessed with a 90% referral rate.

After graduating with my bachelor's degree, I thought that the world of criminal justice would open its arms and be ready to accept me as a professional. I was wrong. I learned after attaining my degree that having a degree does not guarantee future success. I learned that going to the next level is just the beginning of another journey and in this life, we never stop growing. If you're in a season of life where you feel stagnant remember growth does not happen on its own. You have to put in the work and God will do the rest.

Fear of failure has caused me to be apprehensive to accept life's unexpected challenges but I've learned growth happens when I view them as opportunities. I believe the Lord has blessed me when I've been brave enough to lean on His strength instead of my weakness.

I hit a turning point while employed with my former employer where I felt a need to be challenged further. I'm a firm believer that only you are in charge of where your career can go, so I decided to take the reins and make some changes. It was one of the best decisions I've made as I have now found a role that is an advancement and opened up a new lane for further career opportunities. Always know your worth and know that there's no such thing as can't!

Reaching the director's level was a major milestone, but the unexpected challenge was learning how to find my place among established leaders and earn their trust. I discovered that I didn't need to prove I belonged overnight. I needed to lead consistently, respect their experience, and have confidence in the value of my own.

After reaching my major milestone, some obstacles still came through from various types of people from work and family, but I never cared to absorb any of that and stayed determined to keep working on my goals.

I learned that success isn't about having all the answers; it's about giving yourself grace, embracing the lessons that come with mistakes, and trusting the people around you because no one succeeds alone.

Success didn't bring the stability I expected. It ushered in divorce, COVID, a move, and a new career. Looking back, I'm grateful my master's program prepared me for more than a profession; it prepared me for life.

One of the more unexpected lessons of success has been realizing that the strengths that help you grow can also become the things that weigh you down. Being the person who can figure it out, fix it or carry more got me far, but I've had to learn that the next level of growth is less about proving what I can handle and more about being intentional about where I can make the greatest impact.

Success didn't eliminate the challenges, it simply changed them. I learned that every new level requires greater resilience, stronger boundaries, and the courage to keep leading with purpose even when no one sees the sacrifices behind the scenes.

As you work up to promotions you build quiet endurance which builds a strong professional foundation within you that gives you confidence to face the unknown.

Success didn't simplify my mission; it expanded my responsibility. The more people I reached, the more I realized that real success comes from educating, serving, and creating lasting change in people's lives.

Success brings a sense of accomplishment and joy, yet those feelings can quickly dissipate into doubt and even unhealthy desire. Doubt that I can accomplish more or desire to drive myself too quickly to accomplish more without thoughtful planning or selfish intent.
