Aniya Encarnacion

She is a research and academic professional with experience spanning clinical research, biomedical science, peer education, and student mentorship, alongside practical leadership experience in customer-facing operations.

Currently, she serves as Manager at Bloomfield Village Pizza, where she leads team training, customer service delivery, and daily operations. In this role, she oversees staff performance, ensures efficient food service operations, and contributes to system management and workflow optimization using digital ordering platforms.

Alongside her operational experience, she has developed strong research expertise through roles such as Clinical Research Assistant at Integrated Anesthesia Associates, where she supported patient recruitment, informed consent processes, EPIC medical record management, literature reviews, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation. She has also contributed to academic research as a Yale Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow, where she conducted laboratory-based studies on neurodegenerative disease mechanisms using techniques such as western blotting, cell culture, microscopy, and data analysis.

Her academic leadership experience includes serving as a Peer Lead for the UConn Organic Chemistry Bootcamp, where she facilitated group learning, supported students in mastering complex scientific concepts, and promoted effective study strategies. Additionally, she has worked as a mentor through UConn Connects, providing structured guidance in time management, goal setting, and academic success strategies for undergraduate students.
