Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to building a career at the intersection of environmental science, storytelling, and relationship-building. Beginning as a volunteer, I learned how effective communication can inspire action, and I’ve carried that lesson through roles in education, marketing, and development. Today, I rely on adaptability, collaboration, and a strong connection to mission-driven work to create meaningful impact.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to stay open-minded and be cross-functional in what they learn, as versatility strengthens both confidence and impact. Be collaborative and willing to learn from donors and partners—there’s insight and experience behind their ability to give. Most importantly, take in every opportunity to collaborate and grow, as meaningful relationships are at the heart of this work.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is the rapid evolution of technology, particularly AI. While these tools can greatly enhance efficiency and insights, fundraising and nonprofit work are ultimately rooted in relationships. The opportunity lies in leveraging technology to support our work without losing the human connection and sense of empathy that are central to meaningful engagement and impact.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are creativity, connection, and authenticity, all grounded in strong relationship-building. Adaptability has been a constant throughout my career, allowing me to grow beyond traditional boundaries and connect diverse skill sets. I also value open-mindedness and cross-cultural understanding, shaped by experiences that reinforced the importance of patience, empathy, and lifelong learning in both my work and personal life.
