About Chelsea
I’ve been in the human services field for a little over 10 years, and it’s been a journey that’s shaped both my career and who I am.
I started out working in a group home supporting adolescents and young adults with mental health and behavioral challenges, many of whom were in the system and needed structure and stability. From there, I moved into case management at a sober living facility, where I facilitated groups for men in recovery, which deepened my passion for addiction work.
I later served as a Program Director, where I created community-based programs for youth and worked to build meaningful connections across generations. I also helped oversee a food bank and partnered with local colleges and businesses to bring resources and support into the community.
I’m a certified Substance Abuse Counselor and currently serve on the Professional Practice Board for North Carolina. I also support grief groups related to substance use when needed.
My long-term goal is to open my own practice that supports individuals navigating addiction and mental health.
At the core of everything I do is a passion for helping people feel seen, supported, and capable of building a better

Ten minutes with Chelsea
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would honestly say it's serving people and supporting people through some of their most difficult times, and seeing them kind of get on a different side of things, and helping them through those difficult times. I know it sounds kind of minute, but it's really not to me - that's what I consider my greatest accomplishment throughout my career so far.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Your career is what you do not who you are. Take you wherever you go but don’t leave you there.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take care of yourself! You cannot effectively support others when you are not taking the time to care for you.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Ethics and integrity are so important to me. Having a standard of kindness, compassion and empathy that you live by and showing up authentically with that standard everywhere you go and with everyone you meet.
