Her Story
About Daisy
I have been working with a company called Authors Unite for the past 6 months or so, where I have experience with sales specifically for book marketing and publishing. During my undergrad, I was still deciding if I really wanted to do medical school, but I wanted to finish school a little bit earlier in my career and get to work a little bit. I really fell in love with movement, and at the time I was really exploring and playing with working out and just getting more into fitness. I looked into jobs that would still be within healthcare but still supported my interest in fitness and wellness, so I landed on physical therapy. I'm currently in physical therapy school here in New Mexico, and within about a year from now, I want to be a licensed physical therapist. I'm still deciding between going into inpatient rehabilitation or pediatrics. I also have some administrative assistance background.

Ten minutes with Daisy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think over time, I've had a lot of just faith in general. I know my personal faith, and just faith in myself, and feeling how others have faith in me. I think my life has been marked by a lot of faith. With faith, you may not need to know how you're going to get there, you just need to know that you're going to get there.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say just go for it. I think even though sometimes things might seem scary or daunting, just do it. Of course, learn how to manage your time. I think that's the biggest thing that I've had to learn, and I would tell others. If you learn how to balance a lot of things, and also make time for yourself to recharge, I think a lot of things can be done within your day. I try to incorporate a lot of my interests into my everyday life, so especially on long days where maybe I'm at school or at work, and they give us about an hour break, I try to maybe bring one of my crochet projects or a book. I try to bring something physical that I can work with throughout that break. It kind of gives me a sense of fulfillment, but also a good reset for the next chunk of time that I have to do school or work.
