Emily Poon

Patient Advocate & Medical Sales / Marketing
QC Kinetix - Burlington
Colchester, VT 05446

Emily Poon is a Sales and Growth Specialist, Healthcare Educator, and Patient Advocate based in South Burlington, Vermont, where she works in regenerative medicine with QC Kinetix - Burlington. Entering the field directly after graduating from Vermont State University with a degree in Health Promotion and a minor in Sports Science, she quickly developed a passion for helping patients better understand their health and treatment options. In her role, Emily guides patients through the full regenerative medicine journey, educating them on non-surgical alternatives to joint replacement and repair procedures while helping them make informed, confident decisions about their care. Her work combines patient advocacy, consultative sales, marketing, and partnership development, creating a patient-centered approach built on trust and communication.

Over the past year, Emily has distinguished herself through her ability to connect with patients and providers alike. She has generated significant growth within her organization through patient education, referral development, and community outreach efforts, while maintaining a strong focus on empathy and empowerment. She regularly collaborates with healthcare providers and referral partners to increase awareness of regenerative medicine and its ability to improve mobility and quality of life for patients who may not qualify for surgery or prefer non-invasive options. Emily believes that one of the greatest gaps in healthcare is the lack of patient understanding surrounding their conditions, and she is committed to making every patient feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their treatment journey.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Emily values lifelong learning, communication, and service to others. Prior to her current career, she gained experience in caregiving, management, coaching, and volunteer work, all of which strengthened her leadership and relationship-building skills. She has been recognized for her academic achievements through Dean’s List honors and was selected as one of the Influential Women representing Burlington, Vermont for 2026. Passionate about personal growth and meaningful impact, Emily encourages the next generation to continue learning, practice active listening, and focus on empowering others to live fuller and more active lives.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success primarily to the emphasis I place on patient education. By prioritizing strong communication and active listening, I ensure that my patients feel truly heard. My goal is to make them feel both informed and empowered throughout their care journey, which I believe is the foundation of any successful clinical outcome.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that you can build a career you truly love while also helping others heal and improve their quality of life. That perspective has shaped the way I approach my work every day. It reminds me that success is not just about results, but also about making a meaningful impact on the people you serve.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to believe in yourself and commit to being a lifelong learner. Healthcare and regenerative medicine are constantly evolving, so staying curious, open-minded, and willing to grow is incredibly important. Strong communication, empathy, and confidence can take you very far, and you should never underestimate the value of your voice and perspective in this industry.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Having been in this role for a little over a year, one of the biggest challenges I’ve seen is helping patients navigate treatments that are not covered by insurance. It requires a balance of education, trust, and communication so patients fully understand their options and the value of their care. At the same time, one of the greatest opportunities in regenerative medicine is the ability to offer non-surgical solutions that can help people regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my work, empowering patients is incredibly important to me. I focus on making patients feel very empowered and showing them how treatments are going to add value into their life. Understanding how much education is important for the patient journey has been my biggest takeaway - a lot of times patients aren't educated on their condition and what's going on, and that leaves them in the dust. But at our facility, we're able to make them feel very confident and comfortable with what we're able to do. In my personal life, I don't want to take any moment of my life for granted. I just want to live it to the fullest, and I like to be a student of everything and just continue learning. I love being outside as much as possible - hiking, paddleboarding, biking, and weight training is something I'm very passionate about and enjoy doing every day. I just like to stay as active as humanly possible and just be outside and touching grass.
