Erica Lathers is a dedicated Customs Compliance Analyst at C.H. Robinson, where she brings precision and expertise to customs brokerage and clearance processes. With over four years of experience in the field, Erica has developed a strong foundation in project coordination, regulatory compliance, and data analysis, consistently ensuring accurate and efficient operations for her team and clients. Her commitment to excellence and her ability to work independently have made her a valued contributor to her organization.
Erica earned her Master of Science in Ecology, Evolutionary, and Organismal Biology from Eastern Michigan University, where her research focused on the effects of herbicide management on wetland soil microbial communities. Her academic work, including studies on bumblebee populations in Michigan and West Virginia, showcases her analytical skills and passion for environmental science. Prior to her graduate studies, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at West Virginia State University, where she was a member of the Honors Program, a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, and a varsity volleyball athlete.
Outside of her professional life, Erica is a devoted mother of two, a dog lover, and an enthusiast of outdoor activities. She also enjoys playing in her local volleyball league, embracing teamwork and active living both on and off the court. Her blend of scientific rigor, professional expertise, and personal dedication reflects a well-rounded approach to both career and life.

I attribute my success to my strong work ethic. I am committed, disciplined, and consistently strive to give my best in every endeavor, believing that dedication and perseverance are the keys to achieving meaningful results.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to keep an open mind and embrace new experiences. Be willing to try different things, and approach every opportunity with determination and a commitment to grow and excel. Success comes from both adaptability and the drive to make the most of the chances you are given.
