Her Story
About Janet
I believe some of life's greatest lessons come from the experiences that challenge us the most. My journey has taught me the value of resilience, faith, and the importance of showing up consistently, even when the path forward isn't always clear.
Much of my life has been centered around caring for others. I helped raise my younger sister, raised my son, and spent many years focused on supporting the people around me. Those experiences shaped the way I lead, communicate, and build relationships today. They taught me empathy, patience, and the importance of creating meaningful connections.
Outside of my career, I am passionate about health, wellness, personal growth, and entrepreneurship. I start most mornings before sunrise at the gym, which has become an important part of maintaining both my physical and mental well-being. I also enjoy music, spending time with family and friends, and working toward the vision of building my own beauty brand.
What I am most proud of isn't a title or accomplishment—it's the reputation I've built for being someone who genuinely cares about people. Whether in business or in life, I believe success is measured not only by what we achieve, but by the impact we have on others along the way. Being influential isn't about titles or recognition. It's about the impact you have on the people around you. If I've helped someone believe in themselves, solve a problem, grow their business, or pursue a goal they were afraid to chase, then that's influence. To me, influence is created through service, consistency, and the way you show up for others every day.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to faith, resilience, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when life became challenging.
Throughout my life, there have been seasons where my focus was on raising my son, helping raise my younger sister, navigating divorce, and simply doing what needed to be done. During those times, I learned that success isn't built in a single moment, it's built through thousands of small decisions to keep showing up, keep learning, and keep believing in yourself.
While I am grateful for the mentors, colleagues, friends, and relationships that have supported me along the way, I've also learned the importance of recognizing my own strength. We are often our own toughest critics, and one of the greatest lessons I've learned is not to give up on myself, even when the path forward isn't clear.
I believe faith has kept me grounded, resilience has helped me overcome obstacles, and self-belief has given me the courage to pursue opportunities before I felt fully ready. Together, those things have shaped both my personal and professional journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Start now. Don't wait until you feel ready.
Some of the biggest opportunities in my career came before I felt fully prepared for them. If I had waited until I felt completely confident, I would have missed many of the experiences that helped me grow both personally and professionally.
I've learned that confidence isn't something you have before you take action, it's something you build by taking action. Stay curious, trust yourself, and be willing to learn along the way. Growth happens when you're willing to step outside your comfort zone, even before you have all the answers.
Looking back, some of my greatest opportunities came from saying "yes" before I felt ready, and figuring things out as I went.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to focus on building relationships and to never stop betting on yourself.
Early in my career, I thought success was about having all the answers. What I've learned is that people remember how you make them feel. When you focus on building trust, solving problems, and genuinely helping others succeed, opportunities naturally follow. Some of my greatest professional opportunities have come from relationships I invested in years earlier.
I would also encourage women to bet on themselves. There will be times when nobody else can see your vision, understand your goals, or believe in your potential the way you do. In those moments, it's important to stay consistent, keep showing up, and trust the process. Some of the most meaningful growth happens long before anyone else can see the results.
It's easy to compare your journey to someone else's, but every path is different. Stay focused on your own growth, continue learning, and don't let self-doubt convince you to play small.
Believe in yourself before the evidence exists. If you're willing to stay committed, trust your abilities, and keep moving forward, you'll often discover you're capable of far more than you originally imagined.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
In the health, wellness, and beauty industries, I see tremendous opportunities for women because women are driving so many purchasing decisions, trends, and conversations. Today's consumers are looking for authenticity, transparency, and products that align with their values, which creates incredible opportunities for women to lead, innovate, and build brands that truly connect with people.
At the same time, one of the biggest challenges I see is balancing ambition with everything else women are often expected to carry. Many women are building careers, supporting families, caring for others, and pursuing personal goals all at once. It can be difficult to prioritize your own growth without feeling guilty.
I believe the opportunity lies in recognizing that women don't have to choose between personal fulfillment and professional success. More women than ever are redefining what leadership looks like, creating businesses on their own terms, and proving that success can be both meaningful and authentic.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are integrity, faith, resilience, and relationships.
Integrity is important because your reputation is built by what you do when no one is watching. I believe trust is earned through consistency, honesty, and following through on your commitments.
Faith keeps me grounded and reminds me to trust the process, even when I can't see the outcome. It has helped me navigate both personal and professional challenges with perspective and gratitude.
Resilience is another value that has shaped my life. Things don't always go according to plan, and I've learned that some of our greatest growth comes through adversity. Challenges have taught me strength, adaptability, and the importance of continuing to move forward.
Finally, I value relationships. Whether in business or in life, I believe meaningful connections are at the heart of success. The relationships we build, the way we treat people, and the impact we have on others often leave the greatest legacy.
