Her Story

About Julianna

Julianna Garcia is a licensed esthetician, makeup artist, educator, and entrepreneur based in Connecticut who has built a growing career around helping clients feel confident, relaxed, and cared for. As the owner of Skinfusion Beauty Studio in the Hartford area, she provides a range of skincare services, full-body waxing, and makeup artistry while creating a welcoming environment designed to feel more personal and calming than the traditional spa experience. Her passion for beauty began with makeup artistry, which remains a creative outlet through special occasion, bridal, fashion show, and editorial work, while skincare later became an equally important focus after discovering her love for the industry through retail beauty experience.

Julianna entered the beauty field shortly after high school and earned both her makeup artistry certification and esthetics license through Academy DiCapelli. She gained valuable hands-on experience working in corporate spa settings, including as a Lead Esthetician at Massage Envy, before deciding to pursue entrepreneurship and open her own day spa. Over the past four years, she has continued expanding her expertise through client services, brand representation work, and ongoing education, always staying committed to learning new techniques and delivering exceptional experiences to her clients.

In addition to operating her business, Julianna serves as a part-time esthetics instructor at River Valley Esthetics Institute, where she helps guide and inspire future beauty professionals entering the industry. She also works as a Warmline Operator with Join Rise Be, reflecting her passion for supporting others both inside and outside the beauty space. Looking ahead, Julianna’s long-term vision is to create a storefront specifically designed for estheticians — a beauty supply and resource space tailored to the needs of skincare professionals. Her dedication, creativity, and commitment to uplifting both clients and fellow estheticians continue to shape her growing impact within the beauty industry.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Julianna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to myself, but also my family. Mostly myself, just to keep myself happy and content and doing things that I love to do. Makeup was technically my first love, the very first thing that I knew I loved to do. Later on, I realized that I wanted to get more into skincare because I was working a retail job that had both makeup and skincare, and I realized that was another avenue that I could attribute myself to and feel happy doing that as well. My parents have always told me since I was young, trying to figure out my career, that they don't want me to be miserable at a job. They don't want me to feel like they're forcing me to do something where I'm going to be unhappy, because that is the rest of your life.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my parents, who always told me not to stay miserable in a job and to pursue work that genuinely makes me happy instead of forcing myself into something I don’t love.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My quote that I always say to people in general, but also especially women, is just do what you love the most. That's really going to take you to where you want to be. I tell my students this all the time. Within aesthetics, you want to be able to do something where you do feel the most comfortable, because you want to fulfill your joy, not only for the others around you, but for yourself. Being able to incorporate that art, however way that you can, just doing what you love, what brings you the most joy, that's what I always advise.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the beauty and esthetics industry is keeping up with how quickly trends, techniques, and education continue to evolve, but that also creates exciting opportunities to build innovative spaces and storefronts specifically designed to support estheticians and beauty professionals.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are finding joy in what I do, continuously learning and growing, appreciating the support of family, and uplifting other women through collaboration and community.
