Rosanne Montesano Rotondo

Rosanne (Montesano) Rotondo is a seasoned healthcare professional and pharmaceutical leader with over 38 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical sector, including 18 years in senior leadership roles at Novartis. She has extensive expertise in clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, regulatory strategy, and health system strengthening, with a proven track record of leading successful submissions, managing post-marketing safety, and implementing innovative programs to expand access to medicines worldwide.

Throughout her career, Rosanne has been a dedicated advocate for health equity, focusing on sustainable initiatives that improve access to care for patients with noncommunicable and neglected tropical diseases. She has played a pivotal role in advancing care for individuals with sickle cell disease, leading impactful programs in Kenya and Ghana to increase awareness, improve treatment access, and strengthen local healthcare systems. Recognized as an agile and results-driven leader, she inspires teams to challenge the status quo, think creatively, and deliver solutions that make a meaningful global impact.

Since retiring from Novartis in April 2025, Rosanne has continued her professional work as a freelance advisor, providing strategic guidance in global health, clinical research, pharmacovigilance, and healthcare system innovation. She serves on boards and advisory groups, including the NCD Alliance, The Max Foundation, and Lancet/Harvard’s People-Centered Healthcare Commission, continuing to drive equitable healthcare solutions and expand access to life-changing medications worldwide.
