Her Story

About Sara

I've been with Pepsi for 7 years, and it's been a wild ride - very fun and energetic. I started from the bottom, literally stocking shelves as a merchandiser. My boss at the time came up to me and let me know there was a sales position coming open, so I interviewed and got that position. From there, I moved into a merchandising manager position, where I managed and scheduled all the merchandisers and did payroll. Then I got hired on as a district manager in Louisville, Kentucky, where I was for two and a half years. After that, I came back to Northwest Arkansas in the Bentonville area as a small-format district manager for a year, and then got promoted again to my current role as Territory District Sales Leader. I now oversee all the most toured Walmart accounts in the U.S., managing about 8 people total - both frontline employees and salary managers. I was raised by a single mom all my life, and she taught me that nothing ever comes easy and you have to work hard for it. I'm also in the Air Force, and I think that integrity first has helped feed into my professional life. I've had 6 promotions in 7 years, and I just celebrated my anniversary on the 19th of this month. I'm currently preparing to leave in September for 2 years for training, and I'm recently engaged and in the middle of moving to a new house.

Ten minutes with Sara

01What do you attribute your success to?

I was raised by a single mom all my life, and she taught me that nothing ever comes easy and you have to work hard for it. I'm also in the Air Force, and I think that integrity first, which is one of our core values, has helped feed into my professional life as well. When I started off stocking the shelves in the stores, I honestly did not think it would progress that fast, but I believe my work ethic and the values I learned from my mom and the Air Force have been key to my success.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity first is extremely important to me. I learned this value through the Air Force, and I think it has helped feed into my professional life. I was also raised by a single mom who taught me that nothing ever comes easy and you have to work hard for it, so hard work and perseverance are core values that guide both my work and personal life.
