Her Interview
Ten minutes with Vasanthi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a deep sense of purpose, disciplined lifelong learning, and the courage to think entrepreneurially even within complex enterprise environments. I have always believed in operating at the intersection of technology, business, and people, and that perspective has allowed me to create impact beyond titles or roles.
Equally important has been the unwavering support of my family and mentors, who have grounded me while encouraging bold ambition. Their belief in me has given me the confidence to pursue continuous growth, embrace risk, and build ventures that align with both professional excellence and personal values.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
That perspective changed how I approached every role and opportunity. Instead of focusing only on titles or timelines, I focused on continuously learning, solving meaningful problems, and creating impact for organizations and the people around me. It encouraged me to take bold steps whether leading large-scale digital transformations, founding my own IT consulting firm, or stepping into new frontiers like applied AI and entrepreneurship.
I’ve also learned that growth happens outside of comfort zones. Saying yes to challenges before feeling fully ready, investing in lifelong learning, and staying grounded in purpose have been defining principles in my journey. Most importantly, success becomes truly meaningful when you lift others as you rise.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If I could give one piece of advice to young women entering digital transformation and technology, it would be this: don’t underestimate yourself, and don’t wait to feel “fully ready.” I’ve learned that growth comes from stepping into opportunities that stretch you. Confidence often follows action not the other way around.
This industry moves fast, so commit to lifelong learning. Build strong technical foundations, but also understand the business side. The real impact happens when you can connect technology to strategy and people. That’s where leadership begins.
Find mentors, ask questions, and build a strong network. At the same time, support other women around you. There is room for all of us to succeed, and collaboration creates far more impact than competition.
Most importantly, define success in a way that aligns with your values. Whether you choose to grow within a global organization, build your own venture, or do both like I have, stay grounded in purpose. When you lead with integrity, resilience, and curiosity, you won’t just build a career, you’ll build meaningful impact.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest shift in my field right now is that we’ve moved from experimenting with AI and cloud to being expected to deliver real, measurable business value at scale. The technology is no longer the hardest part, the real challenge is aligning people, processes, data, and governance so transformation actually sticks. Many organizations have pilots, but very few have truly operationalized them across the enterprise.
One of the most significant challenges is the skills gap. The demand for AI-ready and cloud-ready talent is growing faster than organizations can reskill their workforce, and that slows down transformation more than any tool or platform limitation.
At the same time, integrating modern, intelligent platforms with legacy systems, while meeting security, compliance, and responsible-AI expectations adds another layer of complexity.
But this is also where the biggest opportunity lies. For the first time, we have the ability to redesign how work happens, not just automate tasks, but augment decision-making, empower employees, and create entirely new digital business models. Organizations that treat digital transformation as a core business strategy, not just a technology initiative, are already seeing higher confidence in ROI and long-term growth.
For leaders in this space, the opportunity is to move beyond system implementation to true enterprise reinvention, building AI-enabled, data-driven, human-centered organizations that are more agile, inclusive, and resilient.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are integrity, continuous learning, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose. In my work, integrity means doing what is right for the organization and the people it serves, even when it is not the easiest path. I believe in building trust through transparency, accountability, and consistently delivering on commitments.
Continuous learning is a core part of who I am. Technology and business are always evolving, and staying curious has helped me grow from a hands-on technologist to a transformation leader and entrepreneur. It also keeps me open to new ideas and new possibilities.
Resilience has shaped both my personal and professional journey. Large-scale transformations, entrepreneurship, and leadership all come with uncertainty, and the ability to stay grounded and move forward with clarity is essential.
On a personal level, family, gratitude, and giving back keep me centered. They remind me that success is not just about achievements, but about the impact we create and the people we uplift along the way.
