Bibiana Cruz is an emerging marketing and technology professional based in Silicon Valley, currently working at NVIDIA as a Generative AI Analyst. She holds a Master’s degree in Marketing (Class of 2025) and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Santa Clara University, where she graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the AKD Honor Society. Bibiana’s professional journey reflects a strong interest in growth marketing, strategic storytelling, and data-informed decision making, with experience spanning both the education and technology sectors.

Before transitioning into the tech industry, Bibiana spent more than two years working in marketing within the education space, where she led community-focused communication and engagement initiatives and developed integrated marketing strategies to amplify organizational impact. She also served as a Growth and Brand Marketing Consultant at Cura, Inc., where she contributed to brand repositioning, website development, and creative marketing campaigns that supported business development and audience engagement. Her work across these roles has combined creative execution with analytics-driven insights to strengthen brand presence and connect communities with meaningful resources.

Bibiana recently pivoted into the technology sector, joining NVIDIA in Silicon Valley where she contributes to the Alpamayo project through data analytics. In this role, she reviews and analyzes video clips used to train and improve the coding of autonomous vehicle systems, helping advance self-driving technology. The position, which she discovered through a university career email while completing her master’s program, marked an unexpected but rewarding career shift after applying in October and beginning the role the following February. Although new to tech, Bibiana embraced the opportunity to explore a different field and quickly found a strong sense of collaboration within her team. She works in a hybrid environment with the flexibility to work from home or in the office often accompanied by her mini schnauzer—while continuing to expand her skills at the intersection of technology, analytics, and innovation. 🚀

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say taking a chance on any project and not being scared of something different. This is something I never saw myself doing, but I took the leap because I wanted something different. Not being scared of something different led me to a really great position with a really great team at a really great company. I definitely believe in just taking the leap and making sure that the job aligns with your values, and everything else is just going to fall into place. Networking has also been huge for me. It truly is the people that you know and the people that you continue to have a relationship with that can get you a new job. This job I have now was also a referral, and it was a really big moment for me because previously I was unemployed after getting laid off from my education job. I found this job through LinkedIn and through my network, so knowing how to start, find, and maintain relationships with other professional people, regardless of the industry they're in, has been key to my success.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The greatest piece of advice I've received is about networking. I know everyone always talks about networking, but it truly is the people that you know and the people that you continue to have a relationship with that can get you a new job. This job I have now was also a referral, and it was a really big moment for me because previously I was unemployed after getting laid off from my education job. I found this job through LinkedIn and through my network. Networking is definitely a big one - just knowing how to start, find, and maintain relationships with other professional people, regardless of the industry that they're in.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to just take a chance on any project. This is something that I never saw myself doing, but I took the leap because I wanted something different. Not being scared of something different led me to a really great position with a really great team at a really great company. So definitely just take the leap and make sure that the job aligns with your values, and everything else is just going to fall into place.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

From a personal side, one challenge is accepting that I belong here, that I have the skills that I need to be in this sector, at this job, in this position. From a professional perspective, some of the challenges include being open to an ever-changing work style with tech. I feel like things are updating on a day-to-day basis, so being very open to change, open to new direction. I'm still learning how to do that in this role.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My top three values are honesty, hard work, and kindness. I admire honest people and people that are genuine. I think having a good work ethic is very important because that translates into different areas of life, not just in your professional career, but in your personal life as well. And I think kindness is so important. I feel like sometimes people have a hard time just being kind, but kindness can go such a long way for so many different people.
