Her Story
About Brittany
I've built my career in the localization industry over the past 10 years, working across diverse verticals including big tech, media, e-commerce, HR, and now healthcare and life sciences. I've had the privilege of working with major companies like Pinterest, Amazon, UPS, United Health Group, and Pfizer. At CQ Fluency, where I've been for about 2 years as Senior Director of Customer Success Operations, I lead the full customer experience journey - from initial website engagement and onboarding to closed-loop feedback, quality challenges, and annual business reviews. My team and I work cross-functionally with every department in the company to ensure our clients see their return on investment and that their experience is perfect. What I love most about this industry is that every day brings new challenges - if you want an industry you're not bored in, localization is it. I started as a project manager 10 years ago, and I'm proud of how my diversity and adaptability have helped me grow. My career path wasn't linear - I started in hospitality, moved to bridal sales, became a massage therapist, and spent time in the ed tech industry helping adult learners before falling into localization, where I've been able to tap into all of my historical professional skills. People at CQ talk about a 'before Brittany era and an after Brittany era,' which I really appreciate. I'm targeting a head of department or VP role in the next year, and I'm excited about where this journey is taking me.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I truly believe it's immersion in my field and having great mentorship and camaraderie in the industry. When you're from the States, you're not really familiar with the idea of localization - everybody I talk to says what I'm speaking about sounds like I'm a doctor. But it's really just time and exposure that has made me an expert. I also think my diversity and adaptability are my strongest attributes. I've seen so many things as a professional over 20 to 25 years - I started in hospitality, went to bridal sales, became a massage therapist to find that grounding myself in peace and calm is what makes me successful today, spent time in ed tech helping adult learners, and then fell into localization where I've tapped into all of my historical professional skills. My former mentor used to call me scrappy - I'm proud of my scrappiness and my ability to get into the grit and lead companies and teams where they want to go. I also think my family background shaped me - I've had parents that have been married and divorced 5 times between them, so I'm used to change and I actually like change. As the oldest of all my siblings, I had to be there and be a leader for them well before being a mom myself. And honestly, my career path was built on some of my earlier employers telling me no to things - every time I was met with that no, while it was disheartening, it just made me push harder.
