Her Story

About Chloe

I started my career in management consulting for 3 years after undergrad, which gave me valuable skills, but I've only really just discovered that I'm most interested in working for growth stage companies or startups within the health and wellness space. I'm currently finishing my MBA at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business, and I'm planning to return full-time to Force Factor, where I worked last summer in brand marketing. Force Factor is a health and wellness company that creates supplements, vitamins, electrolyte powders, and other wellness products. What I love most about working there is the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity I'm able to use by suggesting new products, conducting market analysis to understand what's trending and why, and interviewing customers to really understand where the health and wellness space is evolving. The company has about 55 full-time employees, which has been awesome because I have the opportunity to work across all different departments and communicate with everybody. In a bigger organization, it can be challenging to understand who's responsible for what, but at Force Factor, we have such a small and nimble team that we're able to go from concept to product on shelf a lot quicker than other companies. I really love the intersection between psychology and business, and being able to bring that to life through brand is something I'm really passionate about. This past summer, I was fortunate to step into a director-level role when some people left the organization, and I got to manage a lot of high-profile brand initiatives for the company. Working cross-functionally with the senior leaders was really rewarding, and I learned so much about what it takes to really bring a concept to life within the market space. I have this endless curiosity and creativity that is the through point through my life, and a more entrepreneurial, innovative culture is something that's really exciting to me.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say stay curious and start small. By staying curious, I mean make sure that you're staying up to date on the recent health and wellness trends. If there are other people within your network who are in that field, definitely feel free to reach out and get connected. I think that for me, it was sort of one great conversation led to another great conversation. I was honestly searching for a way to do something that's associated with health in general, in a way that still enabled me to be creative, since I'm a very creative person. Unlike healthcare, where sometimes there are restrictions, as there should be, on how creative you can be, one of the things I love most about this field is that there's a little bit more of an ability to innovate in that space, which is really exciting. It all comes down to curiosity about the space, and then also making sure that you're reaching out to people to understand what their journey has been like, but also what the pros and cons are of working in the field.
