Her Story

About Crystal

My career began in HR and education, and I continued growing in the HR space until I moved into the medical field. I found eHealth Services Group, where I transitioned into a role that combined administration, business, and people operations. In the Health IT space, I became a project manager, and I used all those skill sets - project management, administration, and operations - to become the people operations leader I am today. My typical week starts with a staff meeting where leaders from different departments come together to discuss our goals, what we're focusing on, what's coming up, and how we can all contribute and support each other to make sure our priorities align. As an HR leader, I make sure we are strategically aligned - looking at our position and whether we need to make any changes. Throughout the day, we work with different physicians and vendors to ensure we're on the right paths and partnerships, because as a HIT consulting firm, we work with different business practices to effectively combine the healthcare and technology space together. I've been in this field for close to 20 years, and I've been in my current role for about 6 years with continuous growth.

Ten minutes with Crystal

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my ability to adapt to growth and to be a part of change. From the beginning of my career to my current role now, I've always been in a position where I have growth in that role. I like to maximize it, align my role to the organization, and then from there, build those relationships. Being a people's leader, I combine the people with the business, and it allows room for growth in maximizing people's skill sets and being able to empower them to be great at what they do.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In the space that I am in, I feel like I've been heavy on my career, and it has to look different now that I have a family. I really think that it's important for people in the workplace to understand that you can love having a family and still love your career at the same time. You don't have to minimize one for the other. I'm focused on strengthening my personal brand to show that balance is possible, and that's why this recognition matters to me.
